It’s not often that we follow the exploits of today’s tennis stars in tournaments not of the Grand Slam variety. But, of course, there are exceptions to every rule and today we bring you one such exception via one of the sport’s absolute brightest stars: Iga Świątek. This weekend, Świątek took home the trophy at Indian Wells in California, besting Greece’s Maria Sakkari 6-4, 6-0 in straight sets. The Rolex ambassador is no stranger to big wins, with both U.S. Open and French Open victories under her belt at just 22 years old.
Traditionally we see her with what I assume is an old faithful watch of hers – what we have unofficially deemed the Świątek Datejust – Swiss made Rolex Datejust replica watches with a purple dial and diamond Roman numerals.
But recently, Świątek has been seen on the circuit with a very different sort of Rolex, one that got a good deal of attention at Watches & Wonders 2023, but one that has flown somewhat under the radar over the past year. That would be the brand-new Rolex 1908, the successor to the high quality fake Rolex Cellini watches.
This top Rolex replica watches has proven to be a difficult one to find in real life since its announcement last March. Our attention has been firmly placed on sightings of the Emoji Day-Date and the Le Mans Daytona that we’ve almost forgotten about the 1908, a watch (we think) is primed for some newness at this year’s show.
Admittedly, the black dial, yellow-gold 1908 was one of my absolute favorite AAA wholesale Rolex copy watches of W&W ’23 and is firmly etched onto my future wishlist. But back to Świątek. She has been seen wearing a yellow-gold 1908 herself, with a white dial, at several tournaments this year. Indian Wells, however, gave her the proper platform to really show it off.
Against the white and pink of her match attire and next to the crystal trophy, the dressy and commanding perfect replica Rolex 1908 watches with its yellow-gold case, white dial, and matching YG 12, three, and nine numerals (with matching hands) shone brightly. It is of course paired with a matte brown leather strap. While a watch on a leather strap is possibly a strange choice to wear after two sets of commanding tennis, Świątek gets a pass because – well – it’s a 1908 and we just don’t see them enough.
There’s also something very cool about Świątek opting to wear the 39mm luxury Rolex 1908 fake watches instead of what the brand would consider to be a ladies’ model. We have spoken often about the need to make a watch a watch without the need for gendering. Świątek is acting on that ideal and choosing one of the coolest new watches in the Rolex collection to do it. Adding to the fun, in an unexpected post-win bonus, Świątek was joined by movie star Zendaya as the two shared a few moments (and photos) to round out the celebration.
But Świątek wasn’t the only victor at Indian Wells, nor the only victor in the Rolex family, as the 20-year-old phenom Carlos Alcaraz bested Daniil Medvedev. He hoisted his trophy wearing Swiss movements Rolex Daytona super clone watches with a meteorite dial on an Oysterflex bracelet. In all, though it wasn’t a Grand Slam tournament, Indian Wells brought the heat with two seldom-seen Rolex models.
